Would you know what to do in an emergency?

There are hidden dangers lurking beneath canals, streams and rivers. Don’t risk your safety for a swim.

From 25 to 30 May, the Wakefield District Water Safety Group is raising awareness of water safety through a programme of free, practical demonstrations at water-side locations across the district. 

Coordinated by Wakefield’s Water Safety Group, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are running the programme to show the dangers of jumping into or swimming in open water and what actions can be taken in an emergency. 

Demonstrations are taking place across the Wakefield district during the week between 11am and 2pm. Everyone is welcome.
